ATTENTION TO STUDENTS WITH SEN IN THE CONTEXT OF AN INCLUSIVE SCHOOL
As you can see, some time in this blog publications are spaced more ... You know that the occupations and the mess in which we are involved we limit the possibility of updating the blog, but for now, we're still here.
This time I offer a presentation that I made the other day at the Sixth Meeting of DIVERSIRED. I put some background: For six courses we decided to connect to all teachers therapeutic pedagogy, hearing and language, guiding and orienting ... In short, all those who by their functions, have a more direct involvement with students with special educational needs. Thus, we started to organize thematic face meetings in which all professionals knew exchanged experiences and good practices from different parts of the country. In addition to these meetings in person, we create a platform on which all share resources, opinions, ideas, complaints, suggestions ... In short, a space that provides a real professional debate.
As I said, there are now six courses operation of this structure and the truth is that the feeling is well established network in the nine localities in which we operate.
This time, the VI has become a refresher course in providing education to pupils with special educational needs. A meeting in which we have speakers nearby, as well as experts from around the country to tell us about the latest scientific and methodological approach the work with these students.
The first paper of this meeting was to frame what the point of care to students with special education needs within the framework of an inclusive school. As we said before, speaking of the inclusive school is not talking about special educational needs. For this reason, it was necessary to specify how attention to these students has a place and can be done from inclusive approaches.
I was honored to deliver this first lecture in two sessions and she discussed the concept of inclusive school, the new concept of SEN, THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE INCLUSIVE SCHOOL WORKING WITH THE APPROACH OF BASIC SKILLS, discuss CONTRIBUTION LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR SETTING AN INCLUSIVE EDUCATION SYSTEM, SPECIFIC STRATEGIES AT THE CENTER AND CLASSROOM FOR STUDENTS ATTEND THIS ...
The link will take you to the presentation I used in this paper. It is true that many issues are general and other regulatory issues affecting only recently published in Andalusia, but I think you could serve mostly as a tool for reflection.

ACCESSIBILITY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. A prerequisite for achieving quality education for everyone
V olvemos to recharge after a period of semi-abandonment of the blog and we do enter fully into the world of disability.
Those who already know the blog know that we do not like to focus the idea of the inclusive school in the world of people with disabilities, but, without doubt, the struggle for quality education for all students includes, of course, for this group. Among the essential aspects of care to students with disabilities, are as key accessibility and assistive technologies, without which, in many cases, disabled people would be deprived of opportunities.
To learn more about accessibility, do not know a more detailed and better made the book CONTACT ON ACCESSIBILITY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, IMSERSO published and developed by multiple entities at the head of which stands Institute Biomechanics of Valencia. Throughout the 400 pages that make up the book, we can find a fully detailed how to make available various aspects of daily life: architecture, urbanism, education, training, employment, leisure, culture, communication, social participation .. . For example, someone has thought how to make available a source? Or how to make accessible an event? Here we find the answers.

What Size 6 C D Us Mean
competency assessment. Curriculum transformation.
P Artam of preconceptions based on two misconceptions: the first of which leads us to believe that when we speak of changing the curriculum, we mean to transform what and how to teach, forgetting, often, what and how to evaluate, the second of these mistaken beliefs indicates that work competency-based curriculum is a fad that has nothing to do with issues such as inclusive education or attention to diversity.
Of course, both beliefs are wrong because the transformation of the curriculum requires profound changes in all its parts and on the other hand, a competency-based curriculum always advocate the applicability of knowledge and functionality thereof. Both issues are a railway connection with the inclusive school.
The attached presentation, our good friend Fernando Trujillo (Universidad de Granada) shows a model alternative to traditional assessment in which the productions of the students play a fundamental role and which verifies the acquisition of skills worked, beyond the simple response to an oral or written.

EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP IN SCHOOLS. A condition for the inclusive school. CLOSED FOR HOLIDAY
Ultimately, the directors are in a multi-purpose role that by the more immediate demands, little is about teaching leadership should be the hallmark of this figure in the centers.
Indeed, after the holidays, I wish you a year full of surprises, goals achieved and projects to be undertaken.
E s very common find how teachers assuming leadership roles in schools are overburdened by a host of bureaucratic and managerial tasks that really set it apart from most everyday educational practice. It is very common for the director or the director of the center has the mind occupied in the process of registration, scholarship, attention to complaints from families, monitors potential or renovation works being carried out in the middle ... All this without the immediate urgency to reorganize the center in ten minutes to cover the absence of any partner.
Ultimately, the directors are in a multi-purpose role that by the more immediate demands, little is about teaching leadership should be the hallmark of this figure in the centers.
In the article to which we link from this post, Antonio Bolivar (Universidad de Granada) examines the conditions necessary for principals of schools to exercise their functions effectively. Approaches which Bolívar, although not precisely within an inclusive school approach, are perfectly acceptable for the model that we are defending from this blog. It is certainly an interesting article from which many conclusions can be drawn for the practice of exercise leadership roles in schools.
Indeed, after the holidays, I wish you a year full of surprises, goals achieved and projects to be undertaken.

LEARNING COMMUNITIES. Interview with Ramón Flecha.
Speaking today
Speaking today
Ramon Flecha (Professor of Sociology at the University of Barcelona) is a very clear concern regarding the movement of learning communities, not only in our country but in much of Europe and America.
We have placed a post on this blog referring to the approach of learning communities as an alternative or an example of the inclusive school. As indeed the Arrow, "learning communities are examples of another school is possible."
you attach the interview (published in the journal School in September 2006) for us to see clearly what we mean when we refer learning communities; aprpvechar also want to encourage readers to start improvement processes of this type in their centers.

PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE ON SCHOOL INCLUSIVE. Teacher training.
P t seems incredible that a reality the famous proverb "At home, the blacksmith, knife stick" is that, though I specialize teacher training did not spend so far no post to this essential requirement for progress towards an inclusive school.
In any case, never too late ... And much less if we refer to PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE ON INCLUSIVE SCHOOL which closed yesterday at the Teacher Center of Seville (6 CEP organized by the province of Seville) and the organization of which I was honored to be heavily involved.
These conferences have met for three days work proposals could be a good showcase of everything that can transform the school.
Let us review:
The first day we Gerardo Echeita (Universidad Autonoma de Madrid) who made us the perfect setting for all things to come: four simultaneous workspaces that addressed the need for self-assessment of educational practices Echeita own hand (via the Index for inclusion); Odet Moliner, Joan Traver Lidón Miller (self-assessment through the combination of different tools); Moriña Anabel (school of diversity: materials for teacher training) and Asunción Moya (Inter guide).
The second day focused on learning communities and who better than Ramon Flecha to make the frame of today?. After Ramon Flecha experiences we have four "communities" of the province of Seville Andalucía CEIP, IES and IES Adriano del Valle García Acosta Sevilla Diamond and White Cross Aznalcóllar CEIP . In addition, Odet Moliner, Joan Miller and Traver Lidón approached us concrete experiences Castellón center walking toward inclusion through review of their practices.
The final day focused attention on the curriculum for an inclusive school. Fernando Trujillo made a superb presentation framework for content of the day and from there, Patricia Gamboa we are picking the project work; Joan Traver us closer to the potential of cooperative learning; Hoyos Moses showed us how to include values in the curriculum and Javier Soto we clarified the role of ICT in a school for everyone.
As you can see, a sign of luxury. To all: thanks a million.
But undoubtedly, the great potential of the conference was the teaching assistant.
Approximately 200 professionals that, at the end of the course and after a morning of hard work in the classroom, three evenings devoted to intensive training, knowledge of ways to transform the school. They are the real stars of the conference because it is they who are in their hands the master key to initiate processes of school improvement.
For those who take a step forward, we will be here.
This is the first post without an attachment, but soon, when we make the collection of all materials of the conference, we will put at your disposal.
